The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow

IN POLITICAL NEWS

1) President Trump has endorsed Mikey Johnson for Speaker. I know, I know, but there are two realities here. One is, no one else can likely even come close to getting the votes, and Trump probably believes he has more influence over Johnson than someone else. Hence the Army-Navy Game invite. Oh, and Trump posted a Christmas message to "Governor Trudeau." Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are. And, you know, I missed this, but our old pal Nate Cohn admits that President Trump has redefined American politics. In other words, Natey ol boy, Trump was a vastly more transformational figure than Barack Obama.

2) Everyone else calls it a terrorist attack, but nooooooo, not the FascistBI. Samsud-Din Jabbar (an obviously Amish name) launched a truck as a missile at a New Orleans crowd, killing 15 and injuring dozens. He apparently was a radicalized Muslim who had been in the Army and had ISIS material. But, naaaaahhh. Not a terrorist. And if this wasn't terrorism, it was Darwin-winner-level stupidity Matthew Livelsberger rented the Cybertruck in Colorado Springs, then drove to Trump Tower to blow himself up. Mission accomplished. Oh, except he had to recharge the cybertruck EIGHT TIMES. And the blast was entirely contained: "the glass front doors of the Trump Tower weren't even broken." This guy was stationed at the same military base as Jabbar.. On the positive side, the FascistBI managed to seize more than 150 pipe bombs, no doubt for use by the mysterious January 6 "pipe bomber" who placed a device within 50 feet of veep Harris after stopping to talk with her security detail.

3) As of this writing it looks as though Mike Johnson will retain the speakership.

5) This will be a cancer on America, as Rutabaga has appointed 238 judges and, unfortunately, the Senate confirmed them.

6) ChiCom hackers stole Treasury Dept. docs in a "major incident." What, so the ChiComs know we're broke? Big whoop.

8) America now has more Republicans than DemoKKKrats. This should be especially concerning given the anemic performance of the GOP in House races, and suggests that a large slice of those "Republicans" are MAGA who are not interested in the Bush/McTurd/Minion part of the GOP.

10) Mark Zuckerberg replaced a leftoid Meta exec with a prominent Republican.

11) A former spook says that a "foreign adversary" is responsible for "Havana Syndrome"---the host of diseases that afflicted U.S. gubment personnel in Havana, Cuba.

12) Matthew Graves, one of the lead Department of INJustice attorneys going after J6 Patriot Day protesters has resigned and President Trump's DOJ ought to prosecute him for everything from jaywalking to impersonating a human.

13) New Hampshire affirmed employees' rights to keep weapons in their cars while at work free from retaliation by employers.

14) The staffer who came up with the Trump garbage truck idea was tabbed to be the executive producer of Trump events. Justin Corporale.

15) In peaceful and crime-free New Kabul (NYC) another man was shoved into the path of an oncoming train. Miraculously, he survived.

16) My election night colleague Seth Keshel has 10 predictions for 2025. Mine are below. I probably agree with him on acquisition of arctic properties.

18) In Minnesota, gubment spending per person even after inflation adjustment rose 23%.

19) A new Colorado law requires guns in cars to be in locked containers. Don't think this one will survive a challenge.

20) Two dead, several injured as a small planed crashed into the roof of a business in Fullerton, Kollyfornia.

IN CULTURAL NEWS

21) Jennifer Sey nicely summarizes how we got here with the entitlement culture, and correctly notes that entitlement basically is the notion that you have a right to be free of discomfort, yea, even death.

22) Ryan Burge finds that approval for same-sex marriages has peaked and is declining, but there is no corresponding increase in support for marital fidelity. It's still where it was in 1972. Interestingly, he thinks that as the younger group ages, this will change . . . but it hasn't since 1971(?). In a separate piece on loneliness and church attendance, he finds that social people who talk on the phone are more likely to be church attenders, that a large portion of both the college educated and non-college educated are not social, and that of that group, a large portion are not lonely. Finally, he notes that the single biggest factor to change loneliness is money.

23) The ChiCom supporting New York Slimes has run nine attacks on the Falun Gong dance company Shen Yun. Why do you suppose that is?

24) The demons inhabiting Kollyfornia's government are truly amazing in their constant search to do more evil. Now they want to limit homework because it takes up too much time.

IN ECONOMIC NEWS

26) David Blackmon's 10 most important events in energy in 2024. Great list. And here is an equally good list by David of 10 things President Trump can do in 100 days to unleash the U.S. energy colossus.

27) LNG gas demand hit a record high on the last day of 2024, while US manufacturing hit a nine month high.

29) And here are some good global economic numbers. The tariff on ChiCom goods? 100%!!!!! Good.

32) The US has moved to secure a supply chain for drones since we can, you know, rely on the ChiComs so much.

33) Apple will pay $95 million to settle the SIRI unauthorized recording lawsuit. "Dave, I can't let you do that."

34) A beloved Seattle restaurant had to close because of the ridiculous $20 an hour minimum wage law.

IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS

37) Chinese auto maker BYD accused by the government of Brazil of having "slave labor" at its plant in Brazil, and Brazil has stopped issuing work visas for the company.

38) Not good news for us, but not good news for Chy-na, as the ChiComs have ordered the largest military buildup since the 1930s. It means their economy is REALLY* sucking hard for them to need to employ so many young men in the army. Meanwhile the Taiwanese President has vowed to increase defense spending. Taiwan is a porcupine to the bear. The bear can eat the pocupine any time, but the results could be deadly. This article claims Chy-na is an economic and political Titanic.

IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

41) This article nails it. Megxit and the Ginger Duke's stupid Netflix deal---he made a doc on "polo" that no one watched (probably should have made one on polio)---takes money from real producers, just like that of the Obamas.

IN CHINA VIRUS NEWS

43) Dr. Peter McCullough says the current bird flu outbreak is man made. What, birds aren't eating bats at wet markets?

44) And the China Virus vax is now linked to a 141% increase in transverse myelitis.

AND FINALLY . . .

45) Here are some of my new year's predictions.

AI will emerge in full public view as the greatest energy hog in history and will spur a major split in the DemoKKKrat Party beween techhies and greens.

China will show major signs of internal weakness and collapse

Immigration/H1B reform will occur and neither side will get everything it wants.

*The U.S. economy will radically accelerate before half the year is over.

Republican registrations will make Pennsylvania a red state.

There will be some prosecutions of Deep Staters---but probably far fewer than everyone wants.

*And, Disney will merge with Warner Bros.
