The News of Today is the History of Tomorrow
IN POLITICAL NEWS
1) The Senate, with gol old Yertle, Tom Collins, and MurCowSki joined by Randy Paul, voted down Trump's tariff on Canada. Now the House DemoKKKrats are trying to force a vote. Overall the rates on imported goods will be 10% but on Chy-na, 54% as noted below. President Trump is doing nothing short of rebuilding and revitalizing American industry after decades of global embezzlement in the name of tariffs. Time to stop the gravy train. This is the first across the board tariff since the Taft administration 100 years ago and is based entirely on reciprocity (as were Taft's). As Peter Zeihan has predicted many times, this is the end of Bretton Woods, the post WW II agreements that led to U.S. decline. Some on the left are beginning to side with Trump because of this issue. And Trump says he is seeking "phenomenal offers" from foreign nations in return for cutting duties.
2) The Senate passed Trump's budget resolutoin and 10% tariffs are in effect. The measure goes back to the always-in-recess House.
3) The Supes said President Trump can freeze Education DEI grants. He is winning the majority of these cases and it underscores the wisdom of NOT disobeying the courts as some suggested.
4) Here is the Trump administration's report on global trade barriers. Predictably Traitor Tuppence is opposed. This guy turned out to be Bill Broken Kristol II.
5) Tennessee will no longer fund organ transplants in China, due to their trafficking in organs.
6) North Carolina's Supes ordered a recount of 65,000 contested ballots in a race decided by 734 votes.
7) New Kabul (NYC) Mayor Eric the Red Adams has ditched the DemoKKKrat Party and will run as an independent.
8) One month after Kash Patel was named FBI director, the agency broke a record in number of applications to be agents. Fine, but I'd rather see a record of political arrests and documents released. In that vein, a new DOJ probe into the January 6 Patriot Day prosecutions is a "priority." Oh, and Dan Bongino tweeted that a LOT is happening, that we might not see it, but that there will be results.
9) DOGE will begin exploring lawmakers who became "strangely wealthy" after arriving in Washington. Was this what Trump alluded to when he said DOGE found "something big" and "horrible" yesterday? Meanwhile, DOGE has arrived at the Peace Corps. Justice? No Peace Corps. And 1500+ programs are "zombies," unauthorized and ilegal, totaling over half a trillion dollars.
10) A 16-year-old track star was stabbed to death by a rival during a competition in SF. Meanwhile a PA woman who wrongly accused a stranger of rape and kidnapping was sent to jail. Good. Especially on campus, ANYONE who brings false rape allegations should face the same punishment as the purported rapist.
11) President Trump has hit federal employees with another buyout offer. CUT THAT GUBMENT.
12) A new book says that greedy Zero destroyed the DemoKKKrat Party by competing with his own organization for power and money. He never did one thing to help the DemoKKKrats, losing seats like crazy.
13) Journalist Matt Taibbi is suing a Kollyfornia Congresswoman for libel after she accused him of serial sexual harassment. Good. Break that chowderpigeon.
14) The sometimes whacky Laura Loomer visited Trump and gave him receipts of three disloyal holdovers, whom he canned.
15) Some 24 states have sued HHS to keep the gravy train rolling with all the useless agencies.
16) Kollyfornia going to require landlords to furnish all apartments with refrigerators.
17) The New York Slimes tried to do a hit piece on pedophile hunter "vigilantes" but . . . shocked! . . . wouldn't find any pedos willing to go on record. The Slimes apparently missed this Bronx prosecutor busted for soliciting a young boy on line.
IN ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIEN NEWS
19) DOGE found that of the five million illegals on Social Security, "many of them voted."
20) Rutabaga's border chief was directed to hide illegal criminal numbers, suppress data, and hand out Social Security cards to the invaders.
IN CULTURAL NEWS
21) If churchgoers hear anything from the pew, it's on "inequality" and poverty, not homosexuality or abortion.
22) Be still my beating heart: Trump threatens "extreme cuts" to the National Endowment for the Humanities, better known as the National Endowment for Anti-human Activity.
IN TRANSOID NEWS
23) A female fencer took a knee at the Cherry Blossom Open fencing competition in Maryland rather than fence with a man. "This is a man," she correctly said. This is the way. NO WOMAN ever should compete against a male. Apparently someone else heard the news, as "disc golfer" Abigail Wilson walked off the course rather than compete with a man.
24) Trump's ban on the NEH funding transoid spoogism in the arts stays in place says a judge. Indeed, he has ordered NIH to study "regret" among those who were mutilated.
26) Speaking of sex abuse, Los Angeles County will settle with victims of sexual abuse in foster homes, etc., for $4 billion. How does Kollyfornia even have a dime left?
IN ECONOMIC NEWS
26) Good. Trump's China tariffs are 54%. Time for them to pay up.
27) Both egg and gas prices have fallen. And no CNN. there's no "catch."
28) EV maker Stellantis has idled plants in Me-hee-co and Canada due to the tariffs. Meanwhile new vehicle sales surged in March, the most since 2019.
29) Trump has taken more steps to free U.S. LNG exports. while Sec Brook Rollins is freeing up more U.S. timber production.
30) Companies are beginning to relocate manufacturing in the USA with Hyundai, Eli Lilly, and GE Aerospace joining Apple and Taiwan Semiconductor to open plants here. Ford, meanwhile, will offer across-the-board discounts.
31) The stock markets took a dive after the announcement of the Trump tariffs. So be it. This is Wall Street vs. Main Street and the former must be brought into line. Meanwhile the Treasury bond yield is also falling into line, meaning refinancing our gigantic debt will become much easier. As explained here, this policy draws money out of stocks and into government bonds, reducing the refinancing costs by "detoxing" the economy without inflation. Kinda brilliant.
32) House Rs finally did something, moving to block Kollyfornia's EV mandate.
33) Meanwhile, private payrolls soared 225,000.
34) RFK, Jr. placed top HHS officials on leave. Good. Oh, and he fired Dr. Fallacy's wife and told others move to Alaska or you're out.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS
35) OPEC, seeing Trump's tariffs coming, have increased production. leading to still lower oil prices.
36) Speaking of tariffs, what's the buzz, tell me what's-a-happenin': It turns out that our old pals at Reuters tried to produce a hysteria chart that in fact shows how bad our trade situation is (according to them we only have a surplus with Argentina , Brazil, Mediocre Britain, and Australia) and that most are starting the grovel. Remember the old adage, if you owe the bank $100 you have a problem, if you owe the bank $1 million the bank has a problem? That's the case with trade deficits. The only losers here are those nations (like China) to whom the U.S. has a big deficit. Indeed, David Perdue, Trump's China envoy, says the ChiCom economy would collapse if U.S. consumers withdraw their support.
37) Switzerland joined Me-hee-co, Canada, and Israel in cutting tariffs on U.S. goods, while India is moving in that direction. Today Cambodia joined, slashing its tariffs on U.S. stuff by 85%.
38) The Euros need $11 billion in extra gas to survive the winter. Who will sell it to them, us (with our tariffs?) or the Russkies? Decisions, decisions. And speaking of $11 billion, that's also the amount that foreign (mostly American) investors put into Europe following its announcement of deregulation. Oops. Now, to counter the tariffs, they are talking about RE-regulation. As Irena Slav notes, that's the last $11 billion they will ever see.
39) South Korea's President Yun Suk Yeol violated the constitution when he sent troops into parliament under the guise of a national emergency, and has been impeached and will be replaced in an immediate election.
40) Remember when we were losing the Great Barrier Reef? Coral cover has tripled in the past 12 years.
41) Ernest Stavro Blofeld, better known as Klaus Schwab, is stepping down as head of the World Economic Forum. Let's hope he takes his demonic false prophet, Noah Harari, with him and they descend into the nether regions.
IN ENTERTAINMENT NEWS
42) Annnnd Hollywood still doesn't get it, with Meryl Streep in talks to play Aslan (Christ) in the new live action "Narnia" series.
43) Speaking of remakes, "Snow Black" did so badly that even Disney says "no mas" on a "Tangled" live action re-do.
IN CHINA VIRUS NEWS

AND FINALLY . . .
46) The FDA has approved an opiod free pain medication that delievers relief without addiction. I truly hope so. But I recall Ozempic was to deliver us from fat and instead arrived with enough side effects to be labeld a Covid vax.
